Following the accident in October when 4 cabins of the Aup de Veran gondola derailed from their cable and fell to earth the lift will remain closed, at least for part of the season, according to the Dauphine Libere. The lift is important access point for skiers staying at the bottom of the ski resort. The resort has already replaced two pylons on the lift, constructed by Poma in 1972 and renovated in 2006 but the exact cause of the incident is still unknown despite two ongoing investigations.

There’s more info here - http://forum.grand-massif.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2571
Two ways of looking at this - one, it will create more queues at the other lifts:(
Two,the Aujon area will be the place to head for now that it will be difficult to access by liftsmile
