Huge jump in global CO2 output

The last decade have seen a huge increase in CO2 output. In 2010 33.5 billion metric tons of carbon dioxide were emmitted into the atmosphere according to US sources. The increase from 2009 to 2010 was 5.9%, equivalent to a doubling of CO2 emissions in just 13 years if that trend continues. The main increases come from cement production and fossil fuel burning by China and India.

I visited the mer de glace several times this summer.  there are marking as to where it was at various times.  the huge speed of retreat in the last 20 years is scary.  it shows that there is something going on with the climate, even to climate change sceptics.

like the shape of the graph posted. its such a rise it is worrying and proof of modern mans effect on the planet.
