La Plagne liftpass prices released

SAP, the La Plagne lift pass company have launched their 2011-12 lift pass prices.

Most passes have seen an increase of roughly 2%, which in real terms means, for example, that a 6 day adult Paradiski pass will increase from €249 to €254 for the forthcoming season.

The resort is working hard to attract, and keep, more families this year with no change to the family pass price which will stay at €799 for a 6 day Paradiski pass for 2 adults and 2 children. They are also planning on introducing a free kids liftpass offer over Christmas and Easter, giving one free child Decouvert or Paradiski pass when the parents purchase the same pass.

The 2011-12 winter season will also see a major organisational change, with the deposits for the physical cards themselves being scrapped. Starting from the beginning of next season, the lift pass office will provide the physical cards free of charge to anyone purchasing a lift pass. The aim behind this change is to streamline the system, and to reduce the workload of the lift pass company and the tour operators who sell the passes.

The change has been mostly welcomed, although some have concerns for the environmental impact if an increasing number of passes are being used. The lift pass offices will still re-use all passes that are returned.

I’m not a fan of deposits but making “return bins” widely available is a must.

Any news on the season passes? And is there an early bird discount?

2% increase is pretty much in line with inflation so not unexpected.

Did you hear anything about the 2011 turnover or skier days?

Hi,

Completely agree about the increase, it seems reasonable to me, especially as a large number of clients never returned their lift passes and so paid €3 each on top of the advertised prices in the past.

Full price adult season pass prices are:

La Plagne - €788.50 (€761 this yr)
Paradiski - €934 (€913 this year)

Not sure if there is an earlybird discount I’m afraid. They’ve released the prices to us because we’re a tour operator so our season passes work differently and can’t be ordered till Nov time anyway.

Does anyone else know about early booking discounts for Paradiski season passes?

Happy skiing!
Heather

They’ve released our sales figures to us so the info must be in, but haven’t seen advertised skiier numbers or total resort sales anywhere - probably not something they want to publicise this yr!

Les Coches has already ordered return bins for the lift pass office and the bottoms of the main return pistes . . .not sure what La Plagne is planning to do as a whole but I guess this is as much in their interests as it is in the interest of recycling - the passes aren’t cheap to make!
