Flaine’s satellite resorts of Morillon and Les Carroz are closing tomorrow due to poor snow conditions. They are putting on a free navette service to the other resorts that are still open within the Grand-Massif.
I wonder how many other alpine resorts are having to do the same?
It really has been a poor year for snow. I recall a post last year which predicted a poor snow year, I think due to the early Autumn snowfall - “old wives tales” have some basis in reality!

We skied the last day at the Collet d’Allevard south of Chambery today. Conditions below 2000m were soft and on south facing slopes “variable”. That is varying between mud, rocks and slush. Still I’m amazed they made it this far. Normally they would open weekends into April but this wont be the case this year.

Les 7 Laux is closing on the 10th April, 10 days earlier than announced. They are only running a few lifts until then.

Just been checking on Valmorel ... the links to St Francois and Doucy have closed and there are barely any runs left open. Was there in March and Easter was looking very doubtful even then.

Most of the Espace Diamant is now closed, just looking at this webcam where you can zoom on the thermometer:-

It’s a shame to hear that these resorts are having to close early. The flaine satelite resorts have been struggling with lack of snow after a promising start. I do have to say the pisteurs have been doing a sterling job of keeping the pistes in good condition. I know this is an off piste site, but those pistes do coming handy for getting places and one has to feel for those whose livings rely on a good season. Let’s hope that next season makes up for it.

Bonneval in the Haute-Maurienne still seems to have good snow and is scheduled to stay open until the 30th April.
