I assume he deliberately got back onto his skis and in the fall line? It certainly would have saved his back, neck and head as he went over the rocks. Good reflexes if he did.

It is never fun putting your skis on in such a location. The best bet is to dig the tails into the snow… and not ski backwards over sheer drops.

That was freaky to be honest.  And yeah, it really sucks putting skis on on pretty much anything besides flats.
