Meteo France have confirmed that the period December - February 2008 is amongst the 10th warmest on record and the sunniest since 1950. Jan was +2.3C above average and February +1.8C above average. The weather is around 4 weeks in advance of the long term average.

Overall the winter, including the coldish December, was +1.1C warmer than the long term average. There were also no fatal avalanche incidents in the whole of February which I think may be a first. This is usually the most dangerous month.
