Hi all,

I will go skiing in March and really looking forward to it!
Rather than renting I was thinking of buying myself some boots for myself so I can use them for a long time. Where I live theres no real skiing shops and dont wanna buy them in some overpriced tourist spot pr skiing resort so I was thinking of buying them online.

I had a look at a couple of websites like this one but found it all quite confusing. I did like the Nordica but not too sure really. Do you have any recommendations on what to look for? I am a beginner and although I have skied several times, I am not too sure which one to get. Thanks for any help or ideas!
Cheers!

Don’t do it...!

Bambi - it’s not the same as buying sneakers.  Your idea to buy your own boots is excellent.  Your own boots are definitely the best first purchase to make out of any skiing gear.

But it will only work out for you if you are prepared to invest some time and money.  The boots need to be fitted properly to you.  So forget on-line discount stores and head to the nearest decent boot fitter you can find close to you.  If you don’t, be prepared for lots of pain or skiing in something that feels like a pair of builder’s buckets.

I hear good things about Anything Technical in Kendal if you are in the north.  Colin in Bicester (Solutions 4 Feet) gets nothing but praise if you are in the south. I have no association with either.

The original poster seems to be based in Germany, the same place as Idealo, I wonder if this is some kind of link spam?
