Wow an impressive expedition in the footsteps Ernest Shackleton (kind of). The glaciers look quite dry lower down, is this the best time to cross?

Did you get to tackle any summits, there looks to be some interesting terrain higher up?  Have you got a Google Earth route?

The snow was reported down to the beach in September which might have made day one a bit less work. We had to make three trips from the beach at Little Moltke to ferry our kit to Camp One.

However, at least we could see where the slots were! The Ross glacier was an absolute slog, three days for 12k. I suspect that glacier recession leading to the separation of the Ross from the Hinkle has led to the Ross speeding up hence all the open crevasses.

Original intention was to climb a peak but the weather did not co-operate. Bear in mind that there is effectively no rescue in South Georgia so we had to operate very conservatively.

I could produce a Google file of the main way points - would this be of interest?
