which boots?? touring or downhill?

Don’t Salomon make Atomic’s boots now? I imagine there is a fair amount of technology sharing going on?

Yes they are I think the same company under the covers, but the Salomon Quests and the Atomic boots (don’t recal the name) did look quite different.

I saw the first few posts on this thread and looked at the “Quest”. Appeared to be a good boot but I was advised by a fitter in Tignes, whose opinion I respect, to go for the Garmont Radium.

I have used the Radium for the last two months for general skiing and going uphill. Can’t praise it enough as an excellent all round boot and have had to make myself use my Salomon Impact 10 alpine boots. The Radium is just so light and comfortable in comparison, but still stiff enough for serious downhill skiing.
