Shin problems with new touring boots

Hi all, first post here with a request for help. I used my new pair of Garmont Axons for about 12 days of light touring recently - they were great except for aggravating my shins, not to an unbearable degree but so as to be uncomfortable. Any ideas how to deal with this? Is it just wearing in problems? Should I modify the liners?

Thanks

A handy trick is stick-on sanitary towels/panty liners - stuck on the front of your shins underneath your socks..pref not the sort with “wings”!
and you can get funny looks from mates...!

If it’s a hairy legs soreness problem, then try shaving your legs grin

If it’s a bony shins problem, there are gel shin pads available ( not too sure of the name). Shin Angels? They are reuseable.

I had painful shins for years until I bought some gel shin protectors (i don’t remember the make but you can still buy them), they stick on your shins and cushion the impact, I also cut up a pair of walking socks with thick shin protection on them, so they don’t add volume to the foot part of the boot but cushion the shins to the impact…

Quite often sore shins are caused by the boots being slightly to big, a heel lifter or similar can sometimes resolve the problem.
