the old council and mayor were booted out at the last elections and the new team along with the Association Abondance Demain have been working very hard to find someone, other than the council, to run the lifts. Looks like their efforts have finally born fruit. They have missed two very good years of snow (despite 2007 being dubbed “a bad” year).

I find it interesting that they never removed the Abondance ski trails from the portes du soleil ski area map…

Just a quick update. Abondance has reopened their ski lifts after 600,000 euros of new investment although poor snow conditions means that only half the area is open. There are plans to expand the ski area, no news on what this means yet though.
