Le Pleynet crust skiing
I decided to head back up to Le Pleynet.
Col de Merdaret, les 7 Laux, France
I'd wondered for a long time if it were possible to reach the Rocher Noire from the Pipay side of les 7 Laux. Normally you climb from the col du Barioz.
With the col de Marcieu closing its nordic ski area and le Sappey in poor condition the next nearest nordic ski area is the Beldina / les 7 Laux.
Beldina Powder Session
Route: Tour du Pre de l'Arc x 1, Myrtilles x 3
Snow is back
First time around the nordic trails this year. Snow is soft - there is a lot of new snow that hasn't compacted yet but slides quite well. Some debris on the pistes.
Midi Deux at the Col de Porte
A couple of loops of the Col de Porte ski area. Temperature was 5C at the col (1300m.) and there was quite a strong breeze from the north which had left some branches and leaves on the pistes.
Charmant Som Nordic
The overnight rain hadn't done too much damage. The ski pistes were in good condition having been bashed overnight. The road up to Charmant-Som was hard with a lot of debris over the first km.
Lans en Vercors Allières Nordic Area
Located at altitude 4.5 km from Lans en Vercors itself on the Allières in a "hidden valley" there are three circuits, a red, a blue and a green.
Les 7 Laux Nordic Ski Area
The nordic ski area extends over an altitude from 1400 to 1500 meters. There are 22km of runs for nordic skiing plus marked snow shoe trails.
