Description

From the summit of the Brevent cable car follow the S ridge,. The entrance is 42° and often lacks snow requiring an abseil. This is followed by 400 meters of a narrow couloir which is shaded before joining the Brévent couloir which descends to Chamonix village with good snow. The couloir is popular as it is close to the Brevent summit lift station. The lower East and South-East facing slopes can lack snow cover.

Access: A40/N205 Chamonix -> 3rd exit at r'bout before Aig. du Midi cable car to Brevent.

Equipment: Crampons, possible abseil gear for entrance (look for belay point)
