A little afternoon tour to test the fresh snow and gear. There is no base in the snow pack below 1700 meters but still some rocks below 1900 meters. The snow was hardened by wind at the col de Oudis and some other exposed spots. Indications of snow transport, sculpting with the start of a cornice on the west side of the South ridge to the Roche Noire.
On the east side I skied down to the Oursiere at 1700m where there was aroun 20cm of snow. The powder was a bit heavy in places with an uneven or lack of base. Typical early season snow. Skiing in the couloir was very good.
