Distance: 2.5 km

Trip Reports

Vertical Climbed: 200 meters (656 feet)

Description

Little late afternoon tour to check out the Cascades d'Alloix. The route is easy to the first waterfall and gets progressively more difficult. There was an accident last summer where we witnessed the rescue helicopter. A mother and son who had slipped on the path. Things seemed pretty secure with bridges and cabled sections in a lot of places, maybe a response to the incident. Climbing seemed pretty straightforward but you have to make sure your kids pay attention and watch where they put their feet.

Apparently it is good to come this way in winter when the waterfall can be frozen.

Route Taken: On track down took small path right just before crossing road, this descended to reservoir at hairpin.

Weather: Warm +25C and sunny but cool by the waterfalls. T-shirt weather.

Access: Roadworks in Lumbin are nearly over, hooray!
