The Velvet is billed as a softer, female version of the Black Diamond Havoc but with exactly the same dimensions and weight as the Black Diamond VooDoo range we wonder if it is the same ski with a different top sheet? The lower swing weight will suit generally less powerful women skiers and the ski is said to suit a broad range of skill sets and ideal for women looking for a nimbler ski than the Joule. We think it is marketing with a ski-blue colour scheme aimed at the ladies.
