The Atomic MX:9 is marketed as the touring version of the venerable Atomic R9 freeride ski using the same Beta construction. Many shopes claim lighter weight but for 2005 at least, it is exactly the same ski, only slightly cheaper. It offers the smaller 150cm size. The MX:9 suits intermediate skiers looking for a relaxed ski that works well in powder.

For 2006 Atomic sell a Telemark/AT ski called the Diran 7266m after a mountain in Pakistan. The Diran retails at 70 € more than the MX:9 and although similar (same weight) has a 190cm length and is more rigid and more shaped and aimed at stronger skiers.

The Atomic TM Femme Fatale is very similar to the MX9 with a softer flex aimed principally at women skiers looking for a telemark or touring ski.
