Description

The ski resort of Le Collet d'Allevard is situated in the Belledonne mountainsin the French Northern Alps. The lift served area extends from 1450 metres to 2100 metres. There are 35 km of lift served runs. It boasts one of the largest floodlit areas of piste skiing in Europe and is a firm favourite with afterwork skiers. The resort has snowmaking. The resort opens at the beginning of December and runs through until mid April.

Their is tree lined skiing for much of the domain and also has a large 'out-of-bounds' ski area under the Super Collet lift giving skiers a varied off-piste experience in an area secured by pisteurs. The "triangle" is the star attraction, a steep face to the right of the Super Collet bowl. The lift system has seen recent improvements and is relatively modern except in the Pre-Rond sector which retains two slow drag lifts.

Conditions

Very warm with spring snow conditions off piste today, even slushy lower down in the resort. Generally good skiing on piste but don't forget your ski wax and sun cream. Avalanche risk 2.
