French take the lead on the second leg of the Grand Odyssee

The mushers and their dogs set out under driving rain on another technical leg. A modified 46km course from Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval to Morillon. The battle at the front has heated up between the Czecks, dominant in previous editions and French. Jean-Philippe Pontier and his dogs were able to take the lead from Radek Havdra by a slim 9 seconds.

Home fans were also delighted to see another compatriot Daniel Juillaguet move up to fourth place on a difficult course just behind Rémy Coste. 18 team finished the stage run over soggy and sticky snow. Not easy for all involved. Hopefully the fresh snow overnight has improved conditions although temperatures are warm again.
