I'd seen the Sappey trails had been pisted. They only opened a couple of days last season so I decided to seize the day. I wanted to climb to Emeindras, it has been a long time since I'd gone all the way to this high alpine pasture. The climb was much harder than I anticipated due to the fresh snow and the last 3km were done either double pushing or classic style on my skate skis (so no kick). The ski down was much more fun and I was able to skate over the small climbs on the descent despite the fresh snow there.
More or less skiable to the final left hand hair pin. Then 3km in powder from the fall on Monday. Over 50cm of powder on a base at Emeindras. Descent was good with soft snow although I fell on a corner on one of the snow berms.
